About Us

Shepherd & Oak is a Northern California mercantile rooted in simple living and lasting goods, created by us—Olivia and Sean Hightower.

We met through a shared connection to agriculture and the outdoors, drawn together by a way of life shaped by early mornings, honest work, and the quiet satisfaction of building something with your hands. What began as a love story rooted in animals, land, and long days outside slowly became something more—something we began shaping a life around.

Over time, that shared rhythm led us deeper into sheep, wool, and the agricultural spaces that first brought us together. We became especially drawn to the journey of wool itself—where it comes from, the care it takes to raise animals well, and the slow transformation from raw fiber into something useful, lasting, and made with intention.

Shepherd & Oak uses responsibly sourced fibers from Millertown Sheep Farm and other small regional producers we've come to know and trust. Each piece is then hand-finished by us, creating goods meant to be used, worn, and lived with in everyday life.

This work reflects how we want to live—close our Maker, close to the land, connected to the people who raise and produce, and committed to making things that carry meaning beyond their function. As we grow, so does our relationship with the agricultural world around us, and our long-term vision is to continue building a life rooted in that same foundation.

Shepherd & Oak is more than a collection of goods. It reflects the life we are building together—intentional, grounded, and shaped by the landscapes of Northern California.
